Oscar Villarreal is a successful businessman that hails from the Cleveland Ohio area. The Cleveland Rowing Foundation is a great organization, which is the co-owner and the operator of the property and the facility at Rivergate Park. The Work hard to make sure the park is in great condition and taken well care of. They do all this to support their programs, member organizations and the entire Cleveland community. The Cleveland Rowing Foundation also supports more than one thousand three hundred adult college and high school athletes.

Oscar Villarreal has been a proud supporter of the Cleveland community for more than a decade. In 2010, he made a generous donation to the Cleveland Zoological society. Cleveland Zoological Society is dedicated to their mission of creating “compelling experiences that connect people with wildlife and inspire personal responsibility for conserving the natural world.”

Oscar Villarreal knows that The Cleveland Zoological Society has had a number of really impressive successes such as providing $350,000 every year for international conservation programs. These programs are working to help preserve wildlife in Northeast Ohio and all over the world. The Cleveland Zoological Society also is able to distribute 600 zoo memberships to foster families across the community every year for free.

Oscar Villarreal knows that the Zoo has a high return on investment while still offering more than 30 programs that are geared towards serving visitors and students of all ages. Some of those programs include the ZooBus. The ZooBus provides transportation free of cost to schools that cannot afford to take children to the Zoo. They also provide graduate level courses to teachers in the area. These courses are provided in partnership with Miami University and are focused on inquiry, sustainability, bio-mimicry, animal behavior, etc.

Oscar Villarreal, for three years, was a member of the board of trustees for the Cleveland Institute of Music. He was there while he was the managing partner of Standard Asset Management. Standard Asset Management was a hedge fund that invested in public equities and private equities in Mexico and elsewhere in Latin America.

Oscar Villarreal has a long time connection with music. He studied as a performance pianist for 17 years and competed in Mexico and Spain. His community service did not end there however. Oscar Villarreal has also been involved in helping deserving students attend college. Oscar Villarreal actually pledged donations totaling one hundred thousand dollars to the Cuyahoga Community college foundation. 2012 was the first year the money was distributed, and eight students were honored to receive scholarships that were $2000 or $1000.

The students were extremely grateful that they were fortunate enough to receive this scholarship money. Many of them are set on paying it forward and working to help others achieve their college dreams. Sometimes donors and perspective donors do not understand the impact that their donations can have. In this case Oscar Villarreal has a better chance of understanding since he is not much older than many of the students who received this scholarship.

The money was distributed to not just people pursuing careers similar to Oscar Villarreal’s, but also, people pursuing music, nursing, construction engineering, medical sonography and more. These students, many of them are working hard to get their education, and Oscar Villarreal is happy that he could be part of their future success.
